Experiences of our travelers in Finland and Lapland

We wanted to visit Finland away from the hustle and bustle of the capital, and the services offered by MY FINLAND truly spoiled us. Our highly energetic Finnish guide—fluent in both English and French—was not only professional but also incredibly attentive throughout our stay. The tours were perfectly organized, offering a wealth of historical and cultural information and fascinating details that gave us a deeper understanding of the lifestyle and customs of this wonderful country. We made unforgettable memories thanks to numerous thoughtful little gifts, intimate meals featuring authentic local cuisine, and a barbecue deep in the forest within a nature park, far removed from any human noise. We enjoyed a fantastic time staying in a luxurious cottage (*mökki*) surrounded by nature—situated right by one of Finland’s 188,000 lakes—and making use of the high-quality sports equipment provided. Thank you, Taina, for a perfect experience discovering Finland far from the usual crowded tourist trails. We have returned safely to Paris, already longing to come back to these little slices of paradise...

We visited Lapland as a family for the first time in February to fulfill a dream and experience the magic of winter there, and we weren't disappointed. Everything was excellent. The accommodation was top-notch (a cozy chalet amidst the snow with a fireplace), the meals were full of wonderful discoveries, and the activities—ice fishing, snowmobiling, a reindeer farm visit, a dip in freezing water followed by a sauna, and more—were fantastic (our only slight regret was the Christmas Village, which turned out to be rather uninteresting and overly touristy). But above all, we had a wonderful experience with our guide, xxx, who took such great care of us from start to finish. They enabled us to enjoy the experience away from mass tourism (with smaller groups and less crowded locations) and with total peace of mind (snow gear provided and all transfers included), all while maintaining constant kindness and good humor. A special mention goes to our final evening, which featured a delicious meal, sledding, and lots of laughter! In short, it was a magical trip—one that both children and adults will remember for a long time. As it happened, we returned to Lapland this summer for a canoeing trip and took the opportunity to see Taina again; she put together a fantastic "express" itinerary for us focused on "the Finnish art of summer living." The Great Lakes region is stunning and offered us magnificent scenery. We enjoyed lakeside barbecues, boat rides, swimming in the lake, a traditional sauna, cycling, blueberry picking and pie-making... it was all about relaxation and the gentle pace of life. We stayed in a lovely, very comfortable wooden chalet tucked away in the forest by the lake. We were absolutely delighted by this second trip—perhaps even more so than the first!
